|History:||The North Florida Professional Chapter is the first professional chapter within SISTUHS, Inc. The chapter’s purpose when established was to provide graduates an opportunity to stay connected with the organization upon completion of their undergraduate degrees. It also provided a pathway for individuals who did not join a collegiate chapter to become inducted as a member of the organization. Originally chartered as the Tallahassee Professional Chapter in 2001, the chapter went through a brief period of inactivity and was re-chartered in February 2003. Due to challenges within the chapter, the chapter once became inactive and was subsequently re-charted in 2006 and 2009. In October 2013, with the help of two tenacious SISTUHS Tequeda Johnson and Stephanie Kimbrough, the North Florida ProfessionalChapter was re-chartered as the North Florida Professional Chapter. The women felt that a name change would allow the chapter to be more inclusive to women within the neighboring counties of Gadsden, Jefferson, Liberty, and Wakulla.|
