Charter A Chapter

SISTUHS, Incorporated actively seeks out committed and working professional women who are interested in introducing our organization to their campus, community, or as Members-at-Large looking to establish a new chapter. Embarking on the journey of chartering a new chapter of SISTUHS, Incorporated is a profoundly unique experience on your campus or within your broader community.

SISTUHS, Incorporated mandates that its members embody and promote elevated cultural, intellectual, and ethical standards, and that their conduct aligns with the ideals and principles be that of substance in both public and personal spheres.

Chartering Requirements

Please review in detail and gather all documents and requirements prior to contacting the National Board of Directors.


Collegiate Chapter Chartering Requirements*

  • A Chapter shall consist of no fewer than fifteen (15) Members at a college/ university where the student population is over 10,000 and no fewer than ten (10) Members at a university/college where the student population is under 10,000 students. Charter Members can consist of current Active and/or Inactive Members who have completed Rites of Passage.

    • Inactive Members are not permitted to Charter Chapters if they are indebted financially to Nationals or to a Chapter.

  • Charter Member(s) must submit a Letter of Intent to the National Board of Directors signifying their interest in becoming a SISTUHS, Incorporated Chapter at their accredited college or university. The letter must include the following:

    • Request to charter a Collegiate Chapter.

    • Name and contact information for all interested Members.

    • Student population of accredited College/University.

    • Listing of dates of upcoming major events on campus or in the city. (Up to 6-months)

    • Listing of possible banking institutions.

    • Plan for generating funding for the Chapter.

    • Plan of Activities for the Chapter.

    • Plan of Community Service for the Chapter.

    • Listing of possible Faculty Advisors and contact information.

    • National Chartering Chapter Assessment of $450.00.

  • A Chartering Chapter must show evidence of $200.00 of operating funds for the ongoing purpose of the Collegiate Chapter.

Professional Chapter Chartering Requirements*

  • A Chapter shall consist of no fewer than ten (10) Members. Charter Members can consist of current Active and/or Inactive Member that have completed Rites of Passage.

    • Inactive Members are not permitted to Charter Chapters if they are indebted financially to Nationals or to a Chapter.

  • Charter Member(s) must submit a Letter of Intentions to the National Board of Directors signifying their interest in becoming a SISTUHS, Incorporated Chapter at the city/borough in which they live and/or work. The letter must include the following:

    • Request to charter a Professional Chapter.

    • Name and contact information for all interested Members.

    • Population of your city/borough.

    • Listing of dates of upcoming major events in the city. (Up to 6-months)

    • Listing of possible banking institutions.

    • Plan for generating funding for the Chapter.

    • Plan of Activities for the Chapter.

    • Plan of Community Service for the Chapter.

    • National Chartering Chapter Assessment of $350.00.

  • A Chartering Chapter must show evidence of $300.00 of operating funds for the on- going purpose of the Chapter.

*All requirements are set forth by the National Constitution of SISTUHS, Incorporated.
